Why is Commercial Refrigeration Important?

Commercial Refrigeration is a vital component for many businesses, providing a means to store and preserve perishable items while maintaining food safety and quality. These systems are designed to be robust, efficient, and able to handle the demands of a commercial environment, and they require specialized knowledge and expertise to install, maintain, and repair.

How Do You Maintain a Commercial Refrigerator & Other Refrigeration Machines?

A well-maintained commercial refrigeration system is essential for ensuring food safety, reducing energy costs, and prolonging the equipment’s lifespan. To achieve these goals, we recommend implementing a regular maintenance schedule that includes the following Maintenance:
• Check temperatures of refrigeration units to ensure they are within the recommended range (32-41°F for refrigerators and -10°F for freezers).
• Inspect gaskets for proper sealing and clean as needed.
• Clean condenser coils to remove dust and debris.
• Ensure the unit is level and stable.
• Check refrigerant levels and inspect for leaks.
• Test defrost systems and adjust as necessary.
• Check and tighten electrical connections.
• Inspect fans and motors for wear
• Clean evaporator coils and drain pans.
• Inspect and test compressors and condensers.
• Lubricate moving parts as required.
• Perform a thorough inspection of all components.
• Test safety devices and controls.

It is important to note that the frequency and scope of maintenance tasks may vary depending on the specific type of commercial refrigeration equipment and its usage. We recommend consulting with us to develop a customized maintenance schedule that meets your unique needs. What is the Primary Difference Between Air Conditioners & Refrigerators?

While some people may think Air Conditioning and Refrigeration are a different name for the same process, in reality there is a major difference between refrigeration and air conditioning, which includes the point of supply for the gases. Refrigeration systems have gas installed in a series of tubes, whereas, air conditioning systems use chemicals built into the unit in conjunction with air from the room(s) being cooled. As the air from the room circulates through the unit, the air is cooled and redistributes the air by projecting it away from the unit. Refrigeration units have circulation systems designed to retain coolant in a confined space. The cool liquids and gases are circulated through tubes and vents via compressor that recycles the air. This process is opposite the natural flow of heat in thermodynamics. In refrigeration heat is removed from lower temperature areas and moved to higher temperature areas.
